I agree MANY people would have had their day ruined because of their mindset. My philosophy is like yours...life happens, life goes on. Everyone can be miserable or happy. It's their choice. I'm sure the cop didn't worry about whether stopping you would ruin your day or not. I have "heard" that the best revenge is to now send the cop a card to thank him for introducing himself to you. Nothing else. It will drive him crazy because he won't remember who you were.
